Community Content Guidelines

Last updated: September 3, 2026

MatchCrowd works because fans tell each other where the game is on. Reviews, photos and match confirmations come from people like you. These guidelines say what we accept, what we remove, and what you can do when something looks wrong. They apply on the website and in the mobile app.

They are a plain-language summary. The binding rules are in our Terms and Conditions, Section 4 and Section 7.

1. What you can post

Reviews of venues you have visited, photos you took there, and confirmations that a venue is showing a match. Say what you saw. Keep it about the venue and the match-day experience.

2. What is not allowed

We remove content that is, or that we reasonably believe to be:

  • Harassment, hate, or attacks on a person or a group.
  • Threats, or content that celebrates violence.
  • Sexual content, or anything not suitable for a general audience.
  • Spam, advertising, or repeated posts.
  • False information about a venue, a match, or a person.
  • Someone else’s personal information — a phone number, an address, a face in a photo taken without consent.
  • Content you do not have the right to post, including other people’s photos.

Our automatic filter holds a review that matches these patterns for a person to check before it appears. That review is not rejected; it is waiting.

3. Reporting

Anyone can report a review or a photo — you do not need an account. Use Report under a review, or Report photo on a venue’s photos, pick the reason, and add details if you want. Nothing about you is shown to the venue or the author.

A person reviews every report. When several people report the same review, we take it off the page while we look. You will see “taken down while we check it” when that happens.

To report wrong venue information — an address, opening hours, a closed venue — use Report wrong info on the venue page instead.

4. Blocking

Signed in, you can block the author of any review with Block fan. You will not see their reviews again, on any venue. Blocking is private: the other person is not told. You can unblock from your account page at any time.

Reviews posted without an account have no author to block. You can still report them.

5. Removal and consequences

When a report is upheld, we hide or remove the content. A removed photo comes off the venue’s gallery; a removed review no longer counts toward the venue’s rating. We may remove content without a report when it plainly breaks these guidelines.

Repeated or serious violations can lead to a suspended or closed account, as set out in the Terms. We act on reports within 24 hours.

6. Why a written comment needs an account

You can rate a venue with stars and quick tags without signing in. To write a comment you need an account. That is a moderation rule: a written comment can be reported and its author can be blocked only when there is an author. Signing in takes an email address and a one-time code. No password.

7. For venue operators

Operators can reply to reviews from their dashboard. They cannot edit or delete a fan’s review. If a review about your venue breaks these guidelines, report it like anyone else and a person will look at it.

8. Questions

Write to us through the contact details in the Terms and Conditions. Our Privacy Policy explains what we keep when you report or block.
